Dear fellow-writers,
It occurred to me that posting and commenting can make us all feel quite vulnerable. So I thought we might implement the 'coding' of entries used by the National Writing Project. When a writer comments on something, s/he can either 'bless,' 'address,' or 'press'. 'Bless' means praise the writer (for the very nervous); 'address' means 'write a friendly critique, making suggestions on what could be changed, as well as compliments'; 'press' means 'put pressure on the writer; really challenge them to rethink and revise.' Each writer gets to choose what kind of comments they would like. What do you think?

interesting idea! so each of us would preface our piece by asking for one of the three kinds of critiques? or do the people doing the critiquing also choose what kind of critiquing they get to do? i'm not fully understanding . . . :)
ps this is NANOWRIMO (national november writing month . . . a month where everone writes novels, if anyone is interested)
That sounds like a lovely idea to get some constructive criticism. I am all for it.
i love that idea, but im a bit confused at exactly how it works. Do the writers say what kind of critique they want on every piece of writing they post?
P.S. we actually need people to post their writings to be able to do this....=)
